Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
