Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
