Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
