Netflix Selects Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment

The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t unfold until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.

The platform declared recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Mr. 2. This character possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will depict a interpretation of that character reimagined as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, as in the source material and anime.

The new cast member will work alongside multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to life, featuring leader the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.

Though the role is a major member of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this represents a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
