President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Tragic Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Call

The president said he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Response

Attendees gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the government to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop providing entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed the program that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” the governor informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
