Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for an innovative domestically developed interceptor drone to enhance its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to set up assembly lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Conditions

The drones utilize a nationally created technology called “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Iranian-made drones. The system underwent testing in combat and proved effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Recent Assault on Kyiv Described as Calculated

The Ukrainian president characterized Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, calculated and brutal” following six people lost their lives and many others wounded in a wave of night-time strikes throughout Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in Kyiv just after midnight this past Friday, with enemy UAVs quickly detected overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

The president reported the country was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and multiple missiles. The deceased had been at home in an apartment building on Kyiv’s left bank during the strike. Dozens of other buildings sustained damage, including the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.

Diplomatic Objection After Embassy Destruction

The Azerbaijani government announced it delivered a formal objection to the Russian ambassador on Friday after the embassy damage. An explosion from a Moscow's missile destroyed a section of the embassy’s perimeter wall and resulted in serious damage to the embassy grounds, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry reported. There were no personnel injured, and a ministry spokesperson said the diplomatic mission in Ukraine was maintaining operations.

Moscow's Glide Bomb Manufacturing Sees Significant Increase

Russia intends to manufacture up to 120,000 glide bombs in the current year, a senior Ukrainian intelligence official disclosed, including 500 of an innovative, longer-range version that is capable of targeting more towns and cities. Moscow's military were firing hundreds of aerial bombs daily, with last month’s daily average standing at approximately 170, based on defence ministry data.

Ukrainian Strikes Target Russian Oil Facilities

Russia’s maritime terminal of the port city temporarily suspended oil exports this past Friday – representing 2% of global supply – after a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Ukraine’s general staff stated its military had fired domestically produced missiles and used various types of strike drones in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of operations to reduce the strategic capabilities of the invading force.”

Ukraine separately targeted an oil refinery in the Saratov area and an energy depot in the adjacent Engels region during the night.

Global Sanctions Impact Moscow's Energy Company

Russia’s second-largest energy company Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with interested parties regarding its foreign assets following recent restrictions from Western nations and failure of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once conclusive negotiations have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” the company stated.

Zelenskyy Plans Visit to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to confer with lawmakers a day after his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. Zelenskyy would meet deputies from both chambers of the legislature throughout his stay, an official announcement said.
